海外アーティストの正規盤の映像を韓国で字幕やハングル文字をジャケットに追加して安価で販売しているのが韓国盤DVDです。(プレス盤)
主に1960年代〜2000年代の映像を中心にDVD化して販売しています。
私も2016年に初めて韓国へ旅行に行ったときに、大体日本円で900円ほどで大量に海外アーティストのDVDを販売しているのを目にして、少し心配でしたがとりあえず6本ほど買って視聴。
画質も悪いことや音が途切れたりも承知の上で、再生してみるとこれがびっくり。
スムーズに再生ができて画質もまぁ許容範囲。
そして字幕の選択ができるのが最高でした。
英語の歌詞がずっと見れるのは個人的にはとても良かったです。
これは韓国盤DVDの特徴だと思うようになりました。
さぁ、本題ですが最近また韓国盤のDVDを新品であり、さらに安価で見つけたので購入し家で再生すると、、、
Motley Crue のDVDが再生中によく音が途切れることに気づきました。
まぁそれでもなんとか我慢できましたが、とうとうブツブツ映像がとまる、動くを繰り返すようになり、全然映像がスムーズに流れなくなりました。
仕方なく、再生を止めて再度視聴するも同じ。
あまり効果はないかもしれないけど、DVDの傷につけるような専用の液体をつけるも、結果は同じ。
別の国内DVDプレイヤーで再生するもだめ。
ふぅ、とうとう上手く再生できない韓国盤DVDに当たってしまいました。
プレス盤で新品で買っても再生できないこともあると考えた上で、これからは海外アーティストの韓国盤DVDの購入がいいと思いました。
でも、安くてコピーDVD-RではなくDVDプレス盤でアーティストの映像を楽しめるのでクセになってしまうんですよね。
ついついお得感があって買ってしまうのはもはや韓国盤が憎めない理由ですね。
Korean edition DVDs are those that add subtitles and Hangul text to the official footage of international artists and sell them at a low price in Korea.
They mainly convert footage from the 1960s to the 2000s into DVD format and sell them.
When I first traveled to Korea in 2016, I saw a large number of DVDs of international artists being sold for about 900 yen each, and although I was a bit worried, I bought and watched about six of them.
I was aware that the image quality might be poor and the sound might cut out, but to my surprise, they played smoothly and the image quality was within an acceptable range.
The best part was that you could select subtitles.
Personally, I really liked being able to continuously see the English lyrics.
I came to think that this is a characteristic of Korean edition DVDs.
Now, getting to the main point, I recently found a new and even cheaper Korean edition DVD, so I bought it and played it at home…
I noticed that the sound often cut out while playing the Motley Crue DVD.
I could still manage to tolerate it, but eventually, the video started repeatedly stopping and starting, and the playback was no longer smooth at all.
I reluctantly stopped and replayed it, but the same issue persisted.
Even though it might not be very effective, I applied a special liquid meant for DVD scratches, but the result was the same.
I finally encountered a Korean edition DVD that couldn’t be played properly.
Considering that even a new pressed disc might not play correctly, I still think buying Korean edition DVDs of international artists is a good idea.
However, being able to enjoy artists’ footage on inexpensive, pressed DVDs instead of copied DVD-Rs is quite addictive.
The fact that I end up buying them because they feel like such a good deal is why I can’t really hate Korean edition DVDs.
