42年ぶりの来札公演が話題となったクイーン札幌公演！時期的に雪まつりが開催されていたということもあり、どのアーティストもなかなかチケット販売に苦戦する札幌公演でしたが、観光客も多く取り入れてクイーンのライブ集客に期待ができました。
そして雪まつり開催中にクイーンの雪像があるという滅多にないこの企画に私も興奮しました。

4年ぶりの来日公演を展開中のクイーン＋アダム・ランバート。明日2月10日(土)にはクイーンにとって実に42年ぶりとなる札幌公演を前に、ロジャー・テイラー(ドラムス)とアダム・ランバート(ヴォーカル)が、札幌の大通会場で開催中の「さっぽろ雪まつり」で特別展示されているクイーンの巨大な雪像をお忍びで訪問した。
「クイーン+アダム・ランバート来日記念特別雪像」と称される雪像の左側には、フレディ・マーキュリーがデザインした紋章（クレスト）が描かれ、Ｑの文字の周りには２頭の獅子、カニ、妖精が配置されており、メンバー4人（ロジャー・テイラー、ジョン・ディーコン、ブライアン・メイ、フレディ・マーキュリー）の星座が描かれている。右側にはクイーンのアルバム『世界に捧ぐ』（原題：NEWS OF THE WORLD）のアルバム・ジャケットに描かれ、ファンから「フランク」と名付けられ親しまれているロボットが配置されている。
7日(水)に大阪公演を終えたクイーン＋アダム・ランバートの一行は、2月8日(木)に空路で札幌入り。雪がちらつく札幌で夕食を楽しんだあと、大きな話題になっている「さっぽろ雪まつり」のクイーンの雪像の話になり、スタッフたちと「それはみんなで見に行こう」と盛り上がったロジャーとアダムが、この日の夜、お忍びで「さっぽろ雪まつり」を訪問。巨大なクイーンの雪像と対面した。

私もこの雪まつりの期間にクイーンの雪像を見に行きました。
割と大きい音でクイーンの曲が流れるので気持ちよかったです。すぐ近くに屋内の休憩所があったので温かい屋内でスープを飲みながらずっとクイーンの雪像を見ることもできました！
GLAYのメンバーもこの雪像を見に来ていたとXでも情報を見かけました。ロックファンを魅了してくれた今年の雪まつりでしたね！

Queen + Adam Lambert, who are currently on their first Japan tour in 4 years, visited a giant snow sculpture of Queen that is being exhibited as a special feature at the Sapporo Snow Festival in Odori Park, Sapporo, ahead of their Sapporo concert, which will be the first in 42 years for Queen, scheduled for tomorrow, February 10th (Saturday). Roger Taylor (drums) and Adam Lambert (vocals) made the visit incognito.
The snow sculpture, titled “Queen + Adam Lambert Commemorative Special Snow Sculpture,” features the crest designed by Freddie Mercury on the left side, with two lions, a crab, and a fairy arranged around the letter ‘Q’, and the constellations of the four members (Roger Taylor, John Deacon, Brian May, Freddie Mercury). On the right side, there is a robot affectionately named “Frank” by fans, depicted as it appears on the album cover of Queen’s album “News of the World.”
After concluding their Osaka concert on Wednesday, the Queen + Adam Lambert entourage arrived in Sapporo by air on Thursday, February 8th. After enjoying dinner in snowy Sapporo, Roger and Adam enthusiastically decided to visit the widely-discussed Queen snow sculpture at the Sapporo Snow Festival. They visited the festival incognito that night and encountered the enormous Queen snow sculpture.

I also went to see the Queen snow sculpture during this Snow Festival. It was quite enjoyable as Queen’s songs were playing loudly. There was a nearby indoor rest area, so I could enjoy warm soup indoors while continuously admiring the Queen snow sculpture!
