前作から7年ぶりとなるフルアルバムの発売決定となり私自身とてもテンションが上がりました。
アルバムタイトル名は
POPULAR MONSTER
2019年のシングル曲名ですね。前作もComing Homeとアルバムタイトル名と曲名は一致していました。
2018年以前の曲は収録されないそうです。Slipknotのコリィーテイラーとのコラボ曲Drugやいい歌多いので収録してほしかったです。
Falling In Reverseはこれまでコンスタントにシングルを発表していました。

新曲を聴くたびに新アルバムの発表はいつになるのか気になる日々を過ごしていました。
そして
2024年5月7日 Ronald (feat. Tech N9ne & Alex Terrible)の発表からの新ツアー開催と新アルバム発売のお知らせ。
いやー感無量です。
私は以前Falling In Reverseの新アルバムがいつになったら発売になるのか気になり思うがままに記事を書いた事があります。
さて、早速新アルバムPOPULAR MONSTERのCDについて調べると、なんと日本盤が出るそうです。
今まで輸入盤のみの取り扱いだったので、嬉しいですね。
レコード、CDジャケットがヴォーカルのRonnie Radkeを前面に写しており、インパクトがあります。
様々なCD販売サイトをチェックしましたが国内盤は3,300円で輸入盤は2,300円前後が多かったです。
アメリカでCDを買う場合14ドルらしいので大体2,200円(1ドル155円)と考えると値段は同じくらいですかね。
なんで、新アルバムの発売が7年も経ったのか勝手に考えていたのですが、レーベルの問題かなと最初は思いました。Epitaphから4枚フルアルバムを発売済み。
例えばそもそも4枚フルアルバム発売の契約で、2017年4枚目のアルバムComing Home発売でその後は特にアルバムを出す縛りがなかったとか？
しかし今アルバムのレーベル名はSilent Trade / EPITAPHとなっており、Epitaphの文字が残っていますが同じレーベルぽいですし、実際のところよく分かりませんがひとまず新アルバム発売決定に私はここ最近ずっと気分がいいです。
実はアルバム発売告知前(4月末)にFALLING IN REVERSEの情報を調べていた事があったのですが、バンドのホームページやTwitter(X)がその時は消えていました。なのでどうしたのかなと気になっていたので余計にアルバム発売に気持ちが高まりました。日本ツアーは難しいと思いますが、いつかライブで観たいバンドです！

I’m personally thrilled about the release of their first full album in seven years.
The album is titled “POPULAR MONSTER,” which is also the name of their single from 2019. Interestingly, their previous album, “Coming Home,” shared its title with a single as well.
It seems that songs released before 2018 won’t be included in this album, which is disappointing for fans who were hoping for tracks like “Drug,” a collaboration with Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, or other favorites.
Falling In Reverse has been consistently releasing singles recently, such as “Zombified” on January 6, 2023, “Watch The World Burn” on January 31, 2023, “Voices In My Head” on May 28, 2023, and “Last Resort (Reimagined)” on June 26, 2023. Each new single has left fans wondering when the new album would drop.
Then, on May 7, 2024, they announced a new tour and the release of the new album. It’s an overwhelming feeling.
I had been wondering why it took seven years for the new album to come out. At first, I thought it might be due to label issues, considering they’ve released four full albums with Epitaph before. Perhaps their contract stipulated four albums, with no obligation for further releases after “Coming Home” in 2017. However, the label for the new album is listed as Silent Trade / EPITAPH, suggesting they might still be under Epitaph or a similar label. It’s unclear, but regardless, the news of a new album has lifted my spirits lately.
Interestingly, before the album announcement at the end of April, I tried to find information about Falling In Reverse, but their website and Twitter were gone. So, I was even more excited when the album news dropped. While a Japan tour might be challenging, they’re a band I’d love to see live someday!
